Love Popcorn Milestone: 1st Birthday!!

I can’t quite believe it but my blog is a year old today!!

It has been hard work and I have lost motivation at times, especially when there is a lot of other stuff going on but I have genuinely enjoyed every minute of it. Here’s a little round up of my first year of blogging.

I’ll admit, I was a little nervous to start. There are so many great blogs out there, especially ones that look at film and TV, why would anyone want to read my little blog but I have managed to build up a great following and have interacted with so many different people along the way.

So first off, I want to start my celebrating some of my most active followers, who all have blogs of their own. Click on their names below and check out their blogs, you won’t be disappointed.

NS Ford – One of my earliest followers, she is a great blogger who predominantly writes book reviews but has some great other little features like her ‘Film of the Book‘ and ‘Ordinary People of the Past‘ series.

Keith – As a fellow, and far superior, movie blogger he should be my enemy but his passion for film is contagious and he writes in a very open and engaging way. Plus, as an American, he (rather annoyingly) gets to see most films way before us Brits so if you like a heads-up, check out his blog.

Amy – aka Sassy Cat Lady is a genuine, down-to-earth lifestyle blogger who, like me, is fairly new to blogging. She has a great variety of posts but I particularly enjoy her ‘30 before 30‘ series.

Next Year

Rather ironically, every since started this blog the amount of films I’ve seen at the cinema has dropped massively so next year I want to catch at least 100 new releases on the big screen. In terms of statistics, I now have a great base to work from and I’d love to be able to double all of my stats from this year.

As well as continuing on with my ‘Retro Review‘ feature, I have ideas for a couple of new features that I am hoping to introduce early next year…

‘Hidden Gems’ – Similar to the ‘Retro Review’ but will feature reviews on film that are underrated and underappreciated. I’ve already got some great films lined up but let me know if you have some favourite films to throw into the mix.

‘Spotlight’ – Each post in this series will focus on a particular actor, actress or director, looking at some of their earlies work, latest work and a little sample of the in-between.

Wow, congratulations! And thank you so much for the shoutout! I can’t even remember how I found your blog (or if I found you on Twitter first?!) but I enjoy reading your posts. Your ideas for more features sound great. Especially hidden gems. I wonder do you know ‘Elizabethtown’ at all? It’s a quirky romance/family drama/dark comedy that I think is awesome but it doesn’t have a great reputation. That would be my hidden gem.

Actually, you were the one who persuaded me to join Twitter ๐Ÿ˜‚ you deserve the shout out, I love your blog.

Iโ€™ll add Elizabethtown to my list, I think youโ€™ve mentioned it before so I definitely need to check it out.

Oh right, I don’t remember, seems like years ago ๐Ÿ˜‰
I like Elizabethtown a lot. Maybe whether you like it depends if you are a fan of Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst, oh and Susan Sarandon!
