Blogger Recognition Award 2019

on

Forget the Oscars, it feels as though awards season has come early! Over the last few weeks, I have been lucky enough to receive nominations for three different blogging awards, which is incredibly humbling. It’s amazing to know that people read and like my stuff enough to consider me, especially when there are SO MANY amazing bloggers out there.

I’ve not really done a very good job at scheduling my awards posts meaning that all three have come out relatively close together, and I probably seem as though I’ve been a little self-indulgent lately. Although I suppose that is typical for Awards season. If it was the Oscars, they would be playing the music by now to get me off the stage! ๐Ÿ˜€

Usual business will resume soon, I promise.

Anywho, back to the post, as usual with these things, there are rules…

#1 Write post to show award.

See exhibit A above ^^

#2 Acknowledge the blogger.

I was lucky enough to have been nominated for this review by three amazing bloggers, don’t forget to check out their blogs. Thank you so much for your nominations, they mean a lot.

Jess – Jess’s blog has a little bit of everything; from music recommendations to travel posts to delicious recipes. So if you fancy listening to music whilst cooking a yummy dinner, Jess’s blog is the place to go.

Bill – Bill is an American based blogger who writes about all the silly things that life contains. His post are relaxed, funny and oh-so-relatable. For some easy reading to help you get through the day, journey on over to Bill’s Silly Place.

Amy – Fellow cat lady, Amy writes a lighthearted lifestyle blog that also offers an honest yet funny look at mental health, mainly OCD and anxiety. Check out Amy’s blog for some great insight and some adorable pictures of her cat, Tilly.

#3 Give a brief story about why you started your blog.

The idea of a movie review blog was first suggested to me by a work colleague, mainly because of the amount of time that Mark and I spend at the cinema. Although it took me nine months to actually bite the bullet, the idea of writing a blog kind of stuck. So, if I ever become a super successful blogger and get invited to movie premieres I know who to thank.

#4 Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.

TAKE THE PLUNGE – They say that you only really start to learn to drive after you have passed your test, well the same can be said for blogging. You can research and plan all you like but you will never learn your blogging style, what works, what doesn’t, until you actually start writing. So take the plunge!

PERSEVERE – There will be times, especially near the beginning, where you will doubt yourself, get into a rut or, worse, get writer’s block. Everyone experiences it, but don’t give up. Keep writing. The ideas and inspiration will come back.

FIND SUPPORT AND BE SUPPORTIVE – Some bonus advice for you, join Twitter. There is an absolutely amazing blogging community on Twitter; they will offer advice, help drive traffic, share posts, post comments and become friends. Just make sure it’s not a take, take, take relationship, you should return the favour and show their blogs some love too.

#5 Nominate 10 bloggers who deserve the award.

There are so many great bloggers out there, that it is hard to pick just ten. If I have missed you then I am really sorry, just know that I love you all.

Congratulations on your noms and thank you so much for the mention (bonus props for mentioning Tilly ๐Ÿ˜˜)! Absolutely love your advice and I 100% agree with it – I definitely learned more about blogging the months I’ve been physically doing it compared to the months I spent putting together a plan and doing my research. Twitter has also been an absolute godsend too in increasing my followers. Congrats again ๐Ÿ˜˜โค๏ธ

And thank you again for nominating me. It can be hard to keep motivation when blogging, and these awards are such a great way to show appreciation for other peopleโ€™s work.

  3. Congratulations! It is so good to see bloggers get recognised and receive awards. I hope you receive many more.
